Mekong ICT Camp, Thailand

This morning, ODC’s Project Manager Terry Parnell presented on the panel “Open Data, Social Development and the Implementation Insights” at the Mekong ICT Camp, in Thailand.

TechCamp Phnom Penh

Design Team Leader Heng Huy Eng demonstrates ODC website usage to participants.

ODC team conducted a series of presentations on ODC site at TechCamp Phnom Penh, a technology conference organized by the US Embassy. The focus was on maps, and the anticipated online library and geo-server, with maps of Economic Land Concessions being used as an entry point to demonstrate how the site actually works.

Phnom Penh Mapping Meetup #15

Mean Nara, ODC's Senior Mapper, spoke to the audience about the launch of the GeoServer.

Sreng Saren, ODC’s Web Designer, presented ODC’s online library to the audience.

On April 30, the ODC team hosted a monthly Phnom Penh Mapping Meet-up (PPMM), in which ODC, Atlas, and Sahmakum Teang Tnaut presented on the recent project updates and results. As a result of ODC’s outreach activities, six students from the Royal University of Agriculture attended the event. To encourage more participation from local Cambodian university students, ODC made plans to expand communication outreach to other university campuses.

Cambodian Railway Map

Here is 404.4 km railway line proposed by Chinese companies namely Cambodia Iron and Steel Mining Industry Group CISMIG and China Railway Major Bridge Engineering, to go from Preah Vihear,to Samith Port in Koh Kong via Kampong Thom, Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Speu, Bat Deueng in form of the blue dashed line.
The railway project cost 11.2 billion dollars included sea port, steel mill and rail link with 3km bridge off the coast to Koh Smach Island.
